Even though Ben's birthday was a few weeks ago, I wanted to share these fun pictures we took of him to document his one-year old self. Since Benjamin's birthday is only a few weeks after Christmas, I didn't feel like we needed to really get him anything, so for his birthday the only present we got him was this giant balloon. Needless to say, it was a "huge" hit. When he wasn't running around holding it by the colorful tail he was mesmerized by the floating blue above him and would just stare up pointing at it. He had so much fun with it that it was actually pretty difficult to get him to hold still to take these pictures. Ben is such an active and curious little guy, and he loves to play. That may sound obvious for a one-year old, but any time he thinks you are going to start chasing him, tickle him or wrestle with him, his face just lights up. He lives to be chased and tickled :) One of the few times when Ben will actually sit still is when he has a book in his lap. Reading is his other favorite activity and I love that about him. He has always loved being read to and loves to turn the pages himself. It is so fun to watch his face and wonder what is going on in that little mind of his. This is such a fun age and I can't wait to keep watching him learn and grow!
